Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems has presented Bob Lewis Machine Company with a three-star supplier excellence award for exceptional performance during 2011. The winning suppliers represent less than one present of SAS’ supply base, and were chosen for meeting demanding standards in: quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and overall business and financial health. This is Bob Lewis Machine Company’s third three-star excellence award from Raytheon SAS.

Bob Lewis Adds 5-Axis Contour Machining

Our new SNK Nissin Max 410i-P40 Trunnion Machining Center features a large work envelope with access to five sides of a part for complete machining in one setup. The faster 5-axis machining time, along with greatly decreased workholding and fixturing costs, translates directly into enhanced quality and increased value for our customers.

The unique trunnion mounting on the Max i-series provides exceptional machining stability and dimensional accuracy with enhanced contouring capabilities. The rigid 17.00” trunnion table design allows for ample swing area for accurate machining of larger parts; while the massive cast-iron frame and bridge-type construction contribute to the rigidity and precision of the Max 410i, even during heavy, high-speed cutting.

BLM Sponsors Joe Uribe Jr. / FLW Outdoors Bass Tournaments!

Bob Lewis Machine Company is proud to announce the sponsorship of their newest member to the BLM Team, Mr. Joe Uribe Jr. Joe is to compete in the 2010 FLW West Series-National Guard Western Division; a series of four tournaments, starting in Northern California's Lake Shasta, then moving to the California Delta, then making its way to Nevada's Lake Mead and wrapping up the Season at Arizona's Lake Roosevelt.

Joe will be fishing for the grand prize of $50,000 in each tournament, as well as for points to qualify for the "Super Bowl" of Bass Fishing: the 2011 Forrest Woods Cup in which the grand prize winner takes home a cool $1,000,000 in cash and prizes!

Fourth Gold Supplier Award from Northrop Grumman

Bob Lewis Machine Company has been named a Gold Supplier by Northrop Grumman Space Technology for the second straight year. Only fifty-six Gold Suppliers were chosen for 2008 in recognition of achievements in product quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and robust lean manufacturing processes. Lisa Kohl, vice president, Global Supply Chain for Northrop Grumman, said the companies honored “represent the best of the best,” pointing out that the current economic climate has underscored [our suppliers’] importance. “Building honest, lasting relationships with our suppliers has always been a key part of who we are as a company,” she added.

On April 22, 2008, Bob Lewis Machine Company was one of forty-nine suppliers worldwide to receive a Gold Award from Northrop Grumman Space Technology. The Space Technology division's rigorous Supplier Rating Program requires suppliers and subcontractors to participate in an ongoing performance assessment. Bob Lewis Adds Horizontal Machining

Bob Lewis Machine Company has recently added a Kiwa KH-45 series horizontal machining center to our extensive list of CNC machine tools. This state-of-the-art machine features a 30-HP spindle, full rotary axis, 120 tools, 2 pallets, and a 29.5” diameter x 39.4” high work envelope. The KH-45 is a machine designed for production. Implementation of AS9100 is Completed

The implementation of AS9100 at Bob Lewis Machine Company is now completed. AS9100 is an international standard for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing and was developed using ISO 9001, AS9000, and EN9000-1. AS9100 builds upon these requirements to produce a harmonized standard that meets the requirements of Aerospace companies worldwide.
